Bark Basics

Knowing how much bark to order can be difficult and we want you to get the right.
Most of the time you can figure it out yourself, but sometimes because of the size,
shape and terrain, figuring this out can be frustrating. If the latter is the case,
please give us a call and we will send an professional estimator to you.

If you plan on figuring it out yourself we have put together a simple plan for you to
follow. It is a easy as few steps.

1. How many square feet do you have?
To figure out the sq.ft. of an area, you must first find the dimensions of your area.
The easiest way to measure these is simply by walking the perimeter and counting your steps.
Multiply the length times the width.
For non-rectangular areas, roughly figure out the size of a box that would encompass your area
and adjust accordingly. Then add all your sq. ft. together to get total sq. ft.

2
. Next decide how deep you would like your bark to be. 2" is recommended. Go to the table below
and find your desired depth on the top row. Than head down the column until you get to the number
that is closest to your total sq. ft. from step 1. From there follow it over to the left to find the
approximate # of units you will need.

3.
This a rough mathematical estimate that will put you in the ball park. Because your not spreading
bark on a perfectly flat gym floor, you must add to this # to accommodate for the unevenness of
application and the natural state of your area. To be safe we recommend adding at least a half
unit to this estimate.

4.
Call us. If you are unsure at all, we can help clarify it.
